8tracks Campaign Reports

2014

After a successful campaign, ad partners and clients are provided a campaign report.

Campaign reports contain a variety of data, graphs, and metrics compiled from the campaign's run.

I was responsible for the redesign of the campaign reports for the sales team.

My goals were to produce a clean, easily reproducible, design that could be easily understood by our clients.

One of my stakeholders, the sales team, typically juggles multiple screens of varying data, metrics, and campaign related images. They have to record, compile, and translate this information into a report for the client.

One of my stakeholders, the sales team, typically juggles multiple screens of varying data, metrics, and campaign related images.

They have to record, compile, and translate this information into a report for the client.

Problem:

The gulf between compilation and translation is where design problems can arise due to complex or context heavy information. Given the data and time constraints, the sales team isn't given many opportunities to focus on design and proper data visualization. This combination led to many campaign reports that were bloated with information and not easily digestible by my other stakeholder, the client. Much worse, the end keynote designs didn't match or follow our brand and product design standards.

What we needed:

A minimal design that could translate the sales team's various data into something digestible and clean for the client, while taking cues from our product design.

Template w/ guides and layout

The template was to serve as a guideline for layout and visual design. I wanted the design to be customizable per brand through allowing custom backgrounds and covers, which interact nicely with varied opacities for ribbons and banners.
